Fixing 3gs searching, unable to activate after restore or update.

This tutorial is to help fixing "searching.." error for 3gs after restore to the newest ios 6.0/6.01
So your 3gs iPhone was previous unlock using ipad baseband and you decided to restore to the new ios and get stuck at the activation screen due to the unable to search or find network.

You come to the right place. Took me a couple tries and i figured it out. and almost 99.9% working if you have the above problem.

So let's get to it.

You need to download a couple of firmware, 3gs 6.0 download here
You need to download Redsnow download here

Plug your iphone to computer
Run Redsnow
Select Extras
Select IPSW, pick the firmware 3gs 6.0 you downloaded.
Click OK "screen stated that the ipsw is successuflly identified."
Go back to Jailbreak Screen
Select Jailbreak
Uncheck everyhing and check ipad baseband downgrade.
and start the process and step.." PUTTING IT INTO DFU MODE"
once it's done. open itune and restore the iphone back to ios 6.01
That's it you are done.
This will make your iphone 3gs to lose the carrier unlock and can be unlock factory

    1. I tried these steps, however my phone would restart at the activation phase. I put the phone back into DFU Mode and restored from itunes. The first time I attempted to restore I got an error 21, however my second attempt was successful. Hopefully this helps.
